Our fellow scientists have predicted catastrophic climate change. Most scientists accept this analysis yet few of us have changed our habits - traditional conferences involve hundreds of participants traveling from all over the world. Travel for these conferences is at odds to basic scientific responsibility. Although there is a need for occasional, large conferences that bring scientists from all over the world together, there is also a need to rethink the traditional conference structure and format. CARE conferences do this.
